Each of the wines from the 1865 line comes from its own selected vineyard planted with a specific variety. Each "single vineyard" is carefully managed in accordance with the conditions of its grape variety, soil and climate -or terroir- to produce wines with consistently unique personalities and quality.
1865 Syrah comes from our property on the heights of the Cachapoal Valley. The vineyards, located 700 m above the sea level, on the Andes Mountain's slope, provides it with special features. The 24 °C differential between day and night time temperatures, and the average summer highs which stay under 27 °C, allow the grapes to ripen slowly. The poor and colluvial vineyard's soil, delivers very balanced plants. These conditions give rise to an outstanding Syrah, with surprising freshness, fruit concentration, and a very particular spicy character.
