Each of the wines from the 1865 line comes from its own selected vineyard planted with a specific variety. Each "single vineyard" is carefully managed in accordance with the conditions of its grape variety, soil and climate -or terroir- to produce wines with consistently unique personalities and quality.
1865 Carmenère comes from our property in the Maule Valley, with rolling hillside vineyards averaging 20 years of age. The colluvial soil shows a significant presence of angular stones and is therefore ideal for controlling plant vigor. The Mediterranean climate features average summer high temperatures that hover around 30 °C, which allows this variety's late-ripening grapes to reach the ideal level of maturation along with excellent varietal expression.
